The North American Steel Alliance is a member-owned, steel cooperative with the buying power of more than $9 billion. With the strength of 121 independently operated steel service centers and the reach of over 450 distribution and processing facilities—throughout the United States and Canada—we represent the largest purchasing co-op in the industry.

Our primary objective is to add value for our member owners by providing them 1) a platform for growth through connections to our network of over 75 preferred mill, operational, and service provider suppliers; and 2) a platform for knowledge to share innovative ideas and best practices. Members who leverage these platforms realize the value of membership in terms of increased profitability, enhanced operational processes, and enlightened leadership. We develop and facilitate purchasing programs ranging from producing steel mills to operational equipment, general services, and consumable goods delivering dividends and cost savings for our member companies as well as additional business and growth potential for our suppliers.

Founded in 1997, our co-op has been recognized every year since 2007 by the National Cooperative Business Association as one of the top 10 purchasing cooperatives in North America—based on total dollars purchased through preferred suppliers.
